The Sponsor's Role

The REAP Sponsor…

…Hires a top REAP graduate. This professional Associate position “sunsets” after 12 months.

After 12 months, neither the firm nor the Associate is obligated to continue the employment relationship.

Compensation will be at market salary plus a regular benefits package.  Recent Sponsors include… Citigroup Realty Services… Cushman & Wakefield… ING Clarion Partners… Jones Lang LaSalle… McDonald’s … Newmark Knight Frank… Prudential Real Estate Investors… Simon Property Group…Wal-Mart Realty… and Westfield Corporation.

Salaries for Associates are set by the market through consultation with Sponsors. For the current New York Class, the floor range is $55-65,000. For Washington and Atlanta, the current floor range is $45-55,000.

Firms employ their Associates as professionals in property management, leasing and brokerage, development, research, and investment analysis.

…Provides a senior practitioner to serve as Instructor, team-teaching a weekly semester evening class for 3 consecutive weeks.

The course focuses on how the real estate professional preserves and enhances the value of income-producing real estate by increasing NOI and decreasing risk.  Once designated, your Instructor will be briefed and furnished with the course texts and lesson plan.

…Hosts a Networking Reception during the semester.

Attendance is 70-80, including REAP students and alumni, Sponsors, and other industry guests.   Refreshments are beer, wine and soft drinks, and simple hors d’oeuvres.   Recent pricing for such an event was $30 / person, less if held in a portfolio property.

…Pays REAP a Sponsor Affiliation Grant of $10,000.

The Sponsor Grant helps to meet challenge grants from ICSC, ULI, and NAIOP, and assures REAP’s continuity and expansion.  Sponsor employment needs can be sent to REAP’s affiliated minority networks.
