Project REAP, the nation's leading nonprofit developing high-potential professionals for careers in commercial real estate, launched its new Lunch & Learn series on October 7, 2025. The series features career strategies with David Poline, President of Poline Search Partners, a REAP sponsor and national talent-advisory firm.
The virtual webinar, moderated by Project REAP Executive Director Taneshia Nash Laird, drew strong participation from fellows, alumni, and professionals across the country. The discussion centered on actionable career strategies and hiring insights in today's commercial real estate landscape.
Poline shared data-driven perspectives on evolving market trends—from the growing importance of skills over tenure to the role of technology and AI in recruitment. He highlighted what top candidates demonstrate, including adaptability, communication, and a growth mindset, while addressing common pitfalls such as a lack of preparation and overreliance on tenure.
Attendees gained practical guidance on resume development, interview preparation, and maintaining a professional online presence, with emphasis on clear achievement-based storytelling and thoughtful follow-up. Poline also underscored the value of networking and trade-organization involvement as keys to long-term success in commercial real estate careers.
The session emphasized how partnering with Project REAP connects industry leaders with exceptional emerging talent while supporting the development of future professionals. Project REAP's Lunch & Learn series creates an ongoing forum for knowledge sharing and connection, demonstrating the organization's commitment to collaborating with sponsors who invest in talent development and strengthen the industry's next generation of leaders.
The event marks the first in REAP's new monthly Lunch & Learn series, offering the organization's national network of more than 2,000 professionals continued access to industry expertise and opportunities for career advancement. Upcoming sessions will alternate between sponsor-led conversations and REAP town-hall discussions.
