Project REAP Taps Alumnae to Lead Programming Efforts

Project REAP has tapped Shawan Edwards to lead programs as it enters a new phase. Edwards has 10+ years of real estate experience in both the non-profit and corporate environments. Over the last 18 months, Shawan operated as a consultant for REAP where (amongst other things) she successfully co-led two online academies adding approximately 200 additional alum.

As the program director for REAP, she is excited to be a partner in the creation of the new Project REAP including creating programs that support and engage REAP’s existing and potentially new alumni - specifically as it relates to the Academy and the Advanced Learning Initiative. "I'm elated to partner with Shawan to further REAPs mission", says Manikka Bowman, executive director of Project REAP. "Our partnership to advance REAP has led to transformative work in a very short time. I'm grateful for her leadership."

Shawan is a proud graduate of the REAP New York class of 2008 (and acknowledges that REAP was a critical component to her education of and introduction to the work of corporate real estate and site selection!) She is also a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and ICSC (Innovating Commerce Serving Communities.) Shawan received her B.A. in English Literature from Northeastern University and her Master’s degree in Real Estate Development from New York University.
